MS in Project Management

Missouri State University now offers a two-stage process for students from India to complete the Master of Science in Project Management. The 30 credit-hour M.S. in Project Management is an interdisciplinary and applied program that provides STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education to project management professionals from all disciplines. The M.S. Project Management is an excellent complement to undergraduate degrees in engineering, information technology, and business. Built upon the widely recognized Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®), the program uses a combination of on-campus and distance learning resources to provide individuals with the knowledge and expertise to meet the intense global competition demands.The M.S. Project Management program is accredited by the Project Management Institute's Global Accreditation Center.

Complete the Missouri State University Graduate Certificate in Project Management Online

AUGUST – DECEMBER 2024

  • TCM 701 - Foundations of Project Management (3 Credit Hours)

    A comprehensive overview of project management, with introductions to basic techniques, functions, and tools explained and demonstrated.

  • TCM 710 - Project Leadership & Communications Management (3 Credit Hours)

    An introduction to the "people skills" necessary to manage projects successfully, including theories and real-life scenarios to practice skills.

JANUARY – MAY 2025

  • TCM 645 - Program and Portfolio Management (3 Credit Hours)

    Provides an overview of program and portfolio management with a primary focus on overall success of the organization.

  • TCM 651 - Project Schedule and Cost Management (3 Credit Hours)

    The use of schedule and cost management tools and techniques to deliver projects on time and within budget.

STEP 2 - USA

Curriculum for In-person M.S. Technology program (In-person Courses and Sequence):

AUGUST – MAY 2025

  • TCM 703 - Project Risk & Quality Management (3 Credit Hours)

    In-depth analysis of types of risks at each stage of project development, with strategies to recognize, assess, and respond to project risks.

  • TCM 740 - Agile Management of Innovation and Technology Seminar (3 Credit Hours)

    Strategic management of technology and innovation in organi zations, building upon broad models of technological evolution and organizational change.

 

  • TCM 750 - Advanced Project Management (3 Credit Hours)

    This capstone course builds upon the foundation of previous courses with advanced theory, research, and practice.

  • Three approved elective courses (9 Credit Hours)

    Three courses approved by the student's advisor, totaling 9 additional hours of credit.

Admission Requirements

    Certificate Program

  • Open to students in final year of 3- or 4-year undergraduate degree programs or graduates
  • Must have a 2.75 minimum GPA in current undergraduate program
  • Language proficiency: V IELTS 6.0 V TOEFL 79 V Duolingo 110 V LinguaSkills Assessment*
  • No GRE required
  • Statement of Purpose and Professional/Academic Resume
  • One letter of reference

    Master Degree

  • 3.0 GPA in Certificate program courses to earn GRE waiver.
  • If lower than 3.0 GPA, GRE score of 300+ is required

Working Professionals
For Working Professionals

If you are currently working in India and would like to continue gaining more valuable experience, but would also like to pursue an MS degree from the United States, this option is for you. Complete your first year in India while you work and travel to the US in your second year to complete your MS degree.

Final Year Students
For Final Year B.Sc, B.B.A, B.Comm & B.Tech Students

The program is open to all students who are beginning their final year of their three or four year degree. B.Sc/BBA/B.Comm students who will begin their final year in August 2021 are eligible to apply. Similarly, B.Tech. students who will begin their final year in August 2021 can also apply. Students who complete the first year will be awarded the Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Missouri State University.

STEM Designated Program
STEM-Designated Program and 3 Year OPT

The MS Project Management degree is a STEM designated program. After completing your second year in the US and earning your MS degree, you can apply for your OPT for a total duration of three years. This gives students the option to develop valuable experience of working in the United States.

The average cost of earning an MS degree in the United States (not including cost of living) is around Rs.25-30 lakhs. The Cohort Program is designed to make the MS program affordable and available to more students. The cost of earning an MS degree through the Cohort Program is approximately Rs.9 lakhs.
